Description
Here is a cute hooded scarf with pockets made with half double crochet stitches. The hood section is made first, then the scarf part is joined as you go. The hood part is rounded at the top, so it forms a nice shape around the head.
Next, you can customize this pattern any way you wish because there are no multiples involved. Want the hood a little taller? Just add a few more chains than what I did. What the scarf a little wider? Add a few more rows instead of the 9 that I made.
Use super bulky weight yarn for this pattern. This size yarn makes a nice hooded scarf. It’s soft and warm, and the stitches work up very quickly.
The primary stitch in the pattern is a half double crochet. All stitches are made using the back loops only. The crochet work looks like it has been knitted instead because of these techniques combined with the squishy texture of the yarn.
Thank you to Naztazia for designing this crochet pattern
